Pontoon NOWPayments alternative for USDT TRC20
NOWPayments is the default crypto gateway for independent stores: about 0.5% same-asset, another ~0.5% to convert, many plugins and coins. Pontoon does not list 350 assets. It does merchant-side USDT checkout on Tron, BSC, and TON, plus gas sponsorship.

Published NOWPayments rates are the 2026 same-asset 0.5% plus conversion add-on. Pontoon figures match the pricing page and code. Energy moves with the rental market; the table is magnitude, not a live quote.
When not to switch
- You need a Shopify/Woo plugin and customers paying in arbitrary coins that auto-convert to USDT — NOWPayments, Cryptomus, or OxaPay still fit better.
- You need fiat off-ramp or a US license — Pontoon does not offer those.
When Pontoon fits
- $25–80 tickets, mostly TRC20, where Energy already rivals a 0.5% fee.
- You want per-order addresses, signed webhooks, and visible underpayment.
- The same account must also sponsor BSC / TON or wallets you control.
